Three Teams Formed to Supervise Eco-friendly Shopping Bags Usage in North Jakarta

Three teams under North Jakarta Environmental (LH) Sub-agency have been alerted to monitor the implementation of eco-friendly shopping bags usage in folk markets.

"We are not directly enforcing, this is merely educational. It will be conducted in the folk market gradually," said North Jakarta LH Sub-agency Head, Ahmad Hariadi, Wednesday (7/1).

Technically, he explained, it was divided into three categories, namely shopping center by the LH agency, folk market by the LH Sub-agency and supermarket by the sub-district LH executing unit.

To conduct supervision in folk markets, his sub-agency already had three teams, comprising five personnel. They were responsible for monitoring the folk markets in two sub-districts.

As for supervising supermarkets, each sub-agency in six sub-districts, North Jakarta had formed a supervisory team. Unlike the public market supervision, its implementation has entered the enforcement friendly.

"Certainly it will be done gradually, starting from reprimands to recommendations for revoking business licenses later," he stated.
